T O P I C R E V I E WCapGirlWhat do you all think of Magi [Society] Astrology, and the importance of chiron for romantic compatibility? WaterNymphI’ve always thought Chiron was a bad thing, so I like to pretend it doesn’t exist Never considered it, but I do like Taureans especially Moons or Venus mmmmm so earthyCapGirlThis "Magi" astrology says that chiron determines whether 2 will fall in love, marry, etc. and says that venus, mars, pluto are all about "sex" and are not indicators of love. I'm with you; chiron's not all that! haha I guess there are alot of astrologers who oppose this restrictive view. HexxieMagi Astrology: quote:CHIRON is the planet that has rulership over emotional ties, marriages, weddings, the family, spouses, and children. It represents the target of a person’s romantic and marital interest. Chiron also has rulership over promises and commitments of love, including engagements and marriage vows. It governs fertility and pregnancies, and the act of giving birth to children in marriage. Chiron rules the marital and romantic instinct and desire of romance, as well as romance itself. It also signifies karmic bonds and intuitive trust. Chiron has dominion over charisma and a person’s public mage; and being noteworthy, esteemed, distinctive, and distinguished in appearance. Chiron is ruler of your career and how you choose to make a living, as well as where you could be most successful. It also signifies your earning power, the economy, and economics. Chiron imparts extraordinary qualities. It also represents life, death, and reincarnation, and it is symbolic of the future. To say that Chiron is a very important planet is an understatement!------------------`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll:::Libra Sun / 29* Gemini Rising / Aquarius Moon:::AcousticGodWhat are the linkages?wilsontcAcoustic,More here about Chiron linkages (middle of the page): http://www.magiastrology.com/lesson3.html Linking Chironically,TimCapGirlThey're aspects, AG, w/ positives being 120 (trine) and 0 (conjunction), and then a 150 (quincux?) is the other positive unless involving Saturn. Negative linkages are of course the 90 and 180. The sextile does not seem to be addressed for some reason? I've got 2 Saturn quincuxes ("clashes") w/ this particular guy, and no discernable Chiron linkages (one just misses a true linkage by 1 degree), so I might as well kiss this relationship goodbye! AcousticGodSo I'd look to the areas 120 degrees away from my Chiron? Hmmm... My IC in Leo is trine Chiron within a degree, and Venus is three degrees away from the trine the other way in Sag.AcousticGodIf someone's DC was trine to your Chiron would it mean anything? If your Jupiter was trine someone's Chiron would it be a good indicator?Someone's NN trine my Chiron? How big of an orb do you use for conjunction?CapGirlAG, you're cracking me up. They only allow for a 3 degree orb, for the trine or conjunction. They are hardcore. So, 117-123, and 0-3. And then on that quincux, 147-153. Any planet w/ Chiron counts as a "linkage", if it's a tighter orb then it's stronger... I don't know everything. It's very complex to me, and made my head hurt. they were talking about 2 different types of natal charts, and that the declinations chart was the more important one to use. ??? Venus De MiloI'm sorry!! I totally didn't see this thread about Chiron. I don't know what to make of magi theory, but there seems to be something to it with all the evidence they show (ie: charts of famous relationships). I have A LOT of Chiron linkage's with my current interest and a lot of other things going on, and I like to think thats why it's so hard to put him out of my mind... I've tried so hard so many times, but I just can't. Now is just not the right time for us, but I can't forget him no matter how much I try and I know he also cares for me, and I see all this stuff in our charts, I can't help but think it's for a reason... No?Anyway, i would love any additional information I can gather on Chiron!WaterNymphCgirl I used to like Chiron, until I read about it but hey like I said, I have it in Taurus and I like Taureans HexxieAG ~ I can answer what the Jupiter trine (linkage) Chiron effect would be. I have the book Magi Astrology: The Key to Success in Love and Money. They only talk about the main planets plus Chiron of course! quote:This is a Romance Linkage, a Golden Linkage, and also a Cinderella Linkage. Except for the Venus-Chiron linkage, it is the most beneficial and powerful linkage that you can have with anyone. Interpretations: combined super sucess, a blessed marriage and relationship, a fortunate family, success as partners, and mutual Golden Handshakes. quote:With all intraaspects, one party is likely to feel the influence more strongly than the other. The next questions would be: 'How do you determine which connected person is impacted more? Who is more emotionally attached?' The Magi Soceity has discovered a way to accurately answer this interesting and often crucial question. After a great amount of effort, we discovered that there is actually a specific hierarchy and order to the strength of the influence of the planets. Of all the planets, whenever a person contributes Chiron to an interaspect, that person is most impacted. In most cases, the person who is most involved emotionally is the one who contributes Chiron to the interaspect. For example, if two persons have a linkage of Chiron to any other planet, usually the Chiron person will feel the effects of the linkage more strongly than the other person, and will be more emotionally attached. You can see how vital this information is.The following list shows the sequence:1. Chiron2. Venus3. Neptune4. Mars5. Sun6. Moon7. Pluto8. Jupiter9. Uranus10. Mercury11. Saturn------------------`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll:::Libra Sun / 29* Gemini Rising / Aquarius Moon:::Venus De MiloThat's really interesting because although I know he feels strongly for me and has what I call a 'soft spot' for me... I always assumed I was more affected and I can't possibly imagine that he could feel this connection more deeply than I do. I find that really hard to wrap my brain around. there must be a mistake somehwhere! LOL Almost all the Chiron connections we have... he contributes the Chiron/Juno (they are exactly conjunct in his chart). Hexxie, does you book say anything about what it means if Chiron & Juno are conjunct in the natal chart?I really have to get my hands on that book!CapGirlVenus de Milo--I know that a Juno/Chiron linkage between the partners is neither postive nor negative, it is neutral, so I cannot imagine that it would have much significance in the natal either. Hexx- that was very informative. Is that sequence the power just as to chiron links to each of those, or can you use it say as to venus links to mars, etc. Probably not...? I've got a chiron trine that's like 124 degrees, can I count it? Please?? haha Darn Magi~~ My relationship has no future under it. I'm interested in what TIM, WILSONTC, thinks of Magi??? HexxieVenus D ~ Unfortunately this book that I have only talks about the 1 - 11 planets I had listed above. They just barely mention the Ascendant, here's what it says: quote:The ascendant interacts with the planets in a way that is very similar to the Sun. Please refer to the equivalent Sun-planet combinations. In other words, to know what the ascendant and Mars combinations represent, see the Sun and Mars, and so on.CapGirl ~ Yes, the above list sequence can be applied to all love / busines situations (not just Chiron). So if there was a Venus / Mars linkage then the Venus person would be more likely to notice the energy and may be more emotionally attached (keep in mind, this is w/o looking at the sign modifications though). Regarding the above list sequence I posted: quote:You might have noticed that all three Romance Planets are at the top of the list. This is meaningful and consistent with all that we have learned. You can use this list to analyze the relative and comparative effects of any interaspect. Each interaspect has a specific range of influences, but each person will feel the impact at a different level and intensity. There is one other intersting and overwhelmingly important detail that affecth which person is more influenced by an interaspect. Women are more influenced when there is a linkage that includes a Romance Planet, and men feel more attracted when there is an interaspect that includes a Sexual Planet. Why? C'est la vie. Life is more interesting that way, and you don't want to be bored, do you? quote:Romance Planet: Chiron, Venus, or Neptune, based on the belief that these planets have rulerships that govern matters of romance and love. quote:Sexual Planets: A term Magi Astrology that refers to Venus, Mars, and Pluto because it is believed that their symbolisms and the ones that relate to sex.As you said above, they do only use a normal orb of 3* for the longitudes and 1.2* for the declinations.------------------`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll:::Libra Sun / 29* Gemini Rising / Aquarius Moon:::DualityI believe they call the chiron-juno connection "long term relationship" (without marriage). As for orbs, the do expand it to 4 and 1.3 (and I've seen even more in some of their examples) when there are more than two planets involved in the intra-aspects.On the one hand they say that the slightly out of orb planets are "decieving" but very binding for a while in the beginning, on the other hand they expand them when there's planetary "geometry" (more than two planets creating a geometric pattern). There are contradictions in their concepts and they do tend to "bend" their own rules to suit whatever point they try to make.CapGirlHexxie~ How do you look at linkages involving the declinations? Astro.com will show the declinations on the separate natal charts on the synastry but the syanstry grid does not show aspects/linkages based on the declinations. And I'm no good at manual calculations unless involving a conjunction. Is there any site for this? I've got Chiron linkages with Saturn and Pluto, it being his Chiron. Yea! That means he's the hooked one, right Venus de Milo?? haha wilsontcCap, quote:I'm interested in what TIM, WILSONTC, thinks of Magi???Thanks for thinking of me! When I first looked at Magi astrology, I was excited that a new approach to astrology had been found that would give people a new point of view on their relationships. I quickly found out that Magi astrology was about telling people what is GOING to happen and not in telling people what their options are.Chiron in the wrong place? Goodbye relationship! Got a Saturn Clash? Too bad, nice knowin' ya! Got the Venus in a Magical Angle? The good things just keep on comin'...no effort necessary! To me, this isn't helpful and is unrealistic. The idea that all relationships are "blessed" or "doomed" because of the planets seems to me narrow minded. Some people will stay in a relationship no matter what! The walls could fall down around them and they'd STILL be there, trying to hold them up! For others, let someone even LOOK at them the wrong way and they're out the door!Trying to wrap all the complex human interaction of a relationship up into a few "do or die" aspects simply takes all of the effort out of the relationship. It ALSO encourages the "blessed" relationship people to sit back and let the OTHER person do all the "heavy lifting" in the relationship. I believe that relationships are more than just a bunch of energy interactions that "succeed" or "fail". Relationships are about two people making an effort to work together to grow and develop each other in the best way they can. And, to me, Magi astrology has no way to discuss the issue of relationship growth and development.Talking about Magi astrology,Tim------------------For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see: http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctc
